SCHOTT B-270®

PROPERTIES
B-270 is a commercially available material that has excellent optical quality. The material comes in
drawn form in a variety of thickness and sheet sizes, and the drawn surfaces can be polished to improve their
optical performance. Most sheet sizes are about 35″ x 66″. Contact us for further information.

Fused Silica

PROPERTIES
Fused Silica offers the same thermal, physical and mechanical properties which are typical of all
fused silica. It is available in substrate and optical (higher homogeneity) grades

BENEFITS
This material is ideal for optical reference flats, test plates, structural members and high temperature view ports where fused silica properties such as low CTE are desired.

APPLICATIONS
Fused silica can be used where resistance to radiation darkening is required, such as in space
or as long-term passive energy collectors.

Soda Lime

PROPERTIES
Soda lime float glass is manufactured in a wide variety of sizes and thicknesses to 0.4 mm. The
manufacturing of thin and extra-thin glasses according to the float process guarantees optimal surface evenness,
minimal variation in thickness and, within a single batch of glass, lower thickness tolerances than those obtained
through any other manufacturing process.

An affordable pliable solution that can be chemically strengthened.

APPLICATIONS
Optical substrates, displays for computers or electronic devices, special mirrors (cosmetic,
photographic, automotive), thin film coating substrates.

SCHOTT D 263® T Eco Thin Glass

PROPERTIES
D 263® T eco thin glass is a clear borosilicate glass that has a high chemical resistance and is produced by a SCHOTT specific down-draw method. It is available in a variety of thicknesses ranging from 0.03 mm to 1.1 mm.

BENEFITS
Stable against sunlight and heat. Not permeable to humidity and flexibility similar to plastic. Reduced thickness and weight in mobile applications. No loss in image quality due to superior luminous transmittance.

APPLICATIONS
Resistive touch panel for built-in car navigation. Substrate for capacitive touch sensors, as well as IR cut-off filter for camera modules in cell phones.

SCHOTT Borofloat 33®

PROPERTIES
BOROFLOAT™ flat glass has excellent optical characteristics because of the high quality resulting
from the float glass process. This opens up new applications for borosilicate flat glass which has proved itself over
time in laboratories, chemical processing plants, and in the home appliance and lighting industries.

BENEFITS
BOROFLOAT™ flat glass is highly resistant to water, neutral, acidic and saline solutions, as well as chlorine, bromine, iodine and organic substances. Even over long periods of time and at temperatures above 100°C, BOROFLOAT™ exceeds the chemical resistance of most metals and other materials. Maximum long-term operating temperature is 450°C.

APPLICATIONS
Precision engineering, optical applications, home appliances, environmental technology, sewage
treatment technology and lighting.

CORNING Willow Glass®

PROPERTIES
Corning® Willow™ Glass is Corning’s ultra slim, fusion-formed, display-grade glass. Corning intends to provide sheets and rolls of 100 micron and 200 micron thin glass – about the thickness of a sheet of copy paper – up to one meter wide today and wider in the future.

BENEFITS
Corning® Willow™ Glass is a thin and flexible glass substrate that will enable low cost manufacturing of ultra-slim, curved and flexible displays, as well as touch sensors. It also has application opportunities outside of display, where its natural hermetic properties combine with its optical transmission qualities to make it appropriate for a host of barrier applications. Willow Glass combines the inherent benefits of glass – optical purity, thermal stability and an exceptionally clean, smooth and flat surface – with a mechanically bendable form factor.

For other barrier applications, Willow Glass’ hermetic properties, combined with its thinness, helps prevent moisture, oxygen, and other environmental elements from damaging appliances.
